FAQ

How do I register for a class? Please email me at sarah@balletiques.com to save a spot in your chosen class or sign-up here.

How do I pay for a class? An online payment processing system is currently being set up so that you can pay by credit or debit card from this website. In the meantime you can pay by cash or cheque (made payable to Balletiques Inc) on the day, or by INTERAC e-Transfer to sarah@balletiques.com prior to the class; whichever is easier for you.

What do I need to bring to class? A bottle of water and the determination to work hard! Come with a smile, and an open mind to try new things and have fun. If you are participating in the Mom and Baby class, please make sure you have your own two-shoulder baby carrier or wrap, and all your baby essentials. If required, all mats, dumbbells and other equipment will be provided.

All participants will need to sign a Liability Waiver Release Form before your first class. Please arrive a little earlier.

What should I wear to class? For the Barre Fitness and Mom and Baby class comfortable workout clothes and bare feet should be worn. For those with foot problems barre socks or supportive shoes/runners may be worn.

For Silver Swans™ participants may wear ballet shoes/slippers or any other type of shoe that they feel comfortable moving in.

Are there a changing room or bathroom facilities? Yes, all venues have bathroom and/or change facilities.

I have never done ballet before, is experience required? No! Ballet or barre experience is not required to take a Balletiques or Silver Swans™ class. Please don't let the name put you off! The classes are for everyone, no matter your age, gender or fitness ability. If you have any injuries or health concerns please inform me before class. I can certainly suggest modified ways of doing certain exercises. Be safe, and listen to your body.

What if my baby is too small or big for a carrier? First, please ensure that you have been given the all-clear from your doctor before embarking on any physical activity after giving birth. I recommend that if wearing in a carrier, that babies should be able to support their own head, or an infant insert should be used to enable a cozy carrying position and ensure adequate head/neck support for a small infant/newborn. I find most younger babies fall asleep in the carriers from the movement! Alternatively, you are very welcome to keep your baby in their car seat or lay them on a blanket/mat during the class. Do what is easiest and most comfortable for the both of you.

I do not provide child care so if you have an older infant and/or toddler, please note that you are responsible for their behaviour and well being for the duration of the class... I will however provide toys, stickers and colouring books for entertainment!
