As a society we tend to be much more reactive than proactive. We love to procrastinate. We love to put things off. We prefer to cure symptoms instead of prevent them.
This is too often true when it comes to our health. Many of us push it down our priority list in favor of other obligations, only to regret it later on in life.
This is especially true with exercise...
It's never too later to start. But the sooner you do, the easier it'll be to develop good habits and get ahead of symptoms.
And, we need to start looking at exercise through a wider lens... it's not just about your physical body. Exercise improves your mental health. Exercise makes you a better business owner, a better parent and a better person (think about this one).
On this week's episode of My Evolved Life, I have an incredible conversation with Sarah Stewart (Balletiques), a ballet teacher with a passion for her Silver Swans, about the importance of having a long-term vision on health and why you should start exercising today.
On January 29, 2020, Balletiques hosted an event in support of the Calgary Silver Linings Foundation at Festival Hall. The Calgary Silver Linings Foundation provides support and builds awareness of eating disorders in Alberta and has the grand mission of building a residential treatment facility here in Calgary. The event consisted of a mini-Balletiques class with 100+ participants (it was electric!), a silent auction, some local pop-ups including Nourish Sweat Soul, Evolution VN and the Bamboo Ballroom, light nibbles supplied by Jugo Juice, Hula Poke, Crave Cupcakes and Dirt Belly and of course, Bubbles!
We raised $2,132.55 in the support of the Silver Linings Foundation. Thanks so much to all who attended and donated, and our Silent Auction donors and winners. It was a great success.
Watch the official video below of the magical event, and we hope to see you at the next one.
